A very stupid odb question if you please

After getting now my 4th terrano other the years.....

They have always been ODB-I and always just under the fuse box.

This one I got the other day is still the HitachI setup on a 2001.... but the connection isn't there. So I'm confused, ODB-II? If it is, is the connection some other place?

The connector is by the fuse box on them all but it might have come out of it's metal mounting bracket so is dangling behind the fuse box etc
