Well mine have given up yet again!!

The holes in the wishbone arent worn unduly but ive lost the rubbers again on the passenger side.

OEM or poly ?

what sort of roads do you regularly run on, or are you off roading all the time, I live at the bottom of an unmade farm track 400 mtrs long cannot do more than 10 to 15 mph comfortably and not had any problems at all, probably go up and down 4 to 6 times a day, Rick

Then I reckon something must be misaligned, I had a bent anti roll bar on mine when I first got it, bushes had gone, so replaced links and bushes but in the process noticed the bar was bent , got another and fitted it, no problem since, another point, are both sides at the same ride height, this will cause ARB imbalance and shortened bush life, Rick

Timbo are you using the big washer trick? I found when I had arb, back in the day, the bushes used to chew up really quick. Put big washers against the arm and that helped:thumbs

Agree. I fitted a set of Milners orange polybushes that, even with the washers supplied, got crushed to bollox within a short space of time. I think its especially the hole in the wishbone that helps to eat them up so the bigger the washers the better.

Well replaced the bloody a/r bushes and measured the ride height, which was about 5cm lower at front than rear although it didnt look it.

Wound her up to 1cm lower at front than rear with half a tank of fuel on board. Gosh the ride quality has improved!

Engine is obviously back together after a new HG and some ARP head bolts. The bugger isnt going to lift now!! Head was good with no signs of cracks. Had a very very light plane to be certain it was flat though. Lesson is no more than 18psi in the midrange!!

Where do you get ARP bolts from Timbo ? I suspect a short life remaining on mine :augie:lol

I sent Billcar the head to inspect and they sourced the ARP's. Sadly I dont have the part number grr, but they are M12 x something like 160mm, nothing complicated.

ARB Poly Bushes

Just bought some replacement bushes. The four small ones are quite obvious where they fit, but is there a wrong or right way (or again is it obvious !) to fit the two larger ones ?

thanks

If it's the ones I'm thinking of, they will be the ones that go on the anti-roll bar itself. There should be a pair of saddle-type clamps on the front of the arb, approx (from memory) 18" apart. Put the bushes over the arb and re-attach the saddle camps over the bushes using the four bolts.

Bushes

Thanks.

Should I have added they are the Front ARB bushes and it's a 98 Terrano.

ARB Bushes

Replaced the bushes both sides yesterday using the download link and the help from this thread. Thanks to all.

One question though.

In the download guide it says remove the bump stop to aide access. This was easy as mine were missing !

So, Where do I get new ones, I guess this is a Nissan supply part only, had a look around flea-bay and nothing there ?

Any Ideas ?

thanks

There was a thread on the bump stops a few months ago, consensus of opinion was that a) they are Nissan-supply only, and b) they are VERY expensive (a figure of £75 each  comes to mind, but I'm probably wrong, could be more) and that they do not have to be there to pass an MOT - I've got two missing and the car has passed two MOt's and one ITV (Spanish MOT). :clap

Job done, Won't bother and as I don't do any extreme off-roading , not likely to be an issue then.

thanks for that.
