A pillar trims

I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the drivers side A pillar trim (inside) & if there is much room behind it:augie The reason i'm asking is that i'm going to fit a boost gauge & am thinking of fitting an A piller pod to hold it & relocate my volt meter from the cubby hole to the A pillar. This will also allow me to fit the CB into the cubby hole along side the switch I have for my neons (getting fitted very soon)

remove rubber from door opening then lever off with big screwdriver...


its just spring clips


no room behind though., unless just a couple a thin wires

Just warning don't drill into the A pillar, as this will weaken the structure of the vehicle in an accident.

How modern vehicles are designed and the importance of the A pillar allows the Kinetic energy from a hit to be dispersed safely through the vehicle.
The consequence of weakening could be disastrous even in a small hit.

Thanks Extreme:thumb2by the sounds of it then there is'nt going to be enough room to run the cables & the air linr tube for the boost gauge:doh Oh well time to make another pod for the cubby hole to fit both gauges in & poss a pod to house the CB onto of the dash as i'm wanting a more factory look

bar is hollow. so if its big cables you could go in i would.
but if its wires you should be ok might have to run them between screen and trim... take it off and have a look its 2 mins job, really easy... the clips dont break too easy

I took mine of neil to run my wires down for the moon visor .It will take you a few seconds to remove, to get an idea how much space there is behind I put a bit of the grandkids plastacine on the pillar and pressed the trim back on . there was a little more room on the pasengers side so I used that.It's worth a we look then you will get a better idea hope this helps

I think i'll take it off & have a good look:augieas it would be the best plan to mount the gauges on the A pillar

im sure davemuds got his on the A piller.. but hes not got a T2..

looked good when i saw it though.. hes got a nice truck...
