978 :)

That was what I clocked up this week from door to door and touring

Gutted about my wheel bearing collapse, I've been puting them off for ages, expensive lesson learned. I'd suggest to anyone that does regular wading to make sure you put new bearings in, and more importantly the new seals as it was rusty red in there, possibly the original bearing. A couple of weeks before I'd done a 180mile green lane trip around the peaks, not a hint of trouble and no noise either !

But other than this it ran perfectly. Purred along at 80mph on the a30 most of the week :)

I used £70/70L of veg and £100 diesel at £1.39/L wish I'd had more room for veg lol

Why didnt you just buy more veggie oil?

Wise words indeed my friend. Can you not get a large plastic container for the veg oil.Or is space at a premium?

tbh my o/s bearing was getting to the dried up grease stage when i did the gator last week, and we dont wade, just deep puddles. hope i caught it in time! glad it didnt ruin your hols stinka

I have Tescos on my sat nav so I can buy veg oil and just pour it straight into the tank, its surprising just how close you are to a Tesco where ever you are in the country lol

I did a CVJ gaiter couple of weeks ago on the off roader, and had to change the complete stub axle and hub, as it was full of muddy crap, when it was all stripped down, found the rear oil seal ripped to bits, so some thing wound itself into it to destruction, wire? aggressive plant/root? who knows, but probably would have done a couple more meets befor failing, as only seem to average less than ten miles often much less per meet, high speed work it never gets, Rick
