Hi All,

My 1997 SWB 2.4 Petrol Terrano seems to run rough when its cold/wet, but only after driving approx 1 mile, then once fully warmed up after a while it then runs fine again.

It starts no problem and seems to run fine until I've done about a mile in it's as though it's only running on 3 and starts to miss.

Plugs are good, just wondered if anyone had come across a similar problem before I just start changing bit by bit and what the most likely cause is.

Cheers

Sounds like normal sort of petrol engine damp/water issues. Change cap, rotor arm and leads they're probably perishing and leaking to earth.

Its just the moisture earthing the sparks out - once stuff gets warm the moisture evaporates.

Cheers HB,

Thanks for your advise, wasn't sure if it was MAF related (which I presume it has??) I'm no mechanic as you can tell?

Will get them ordered, where do you go for your parts?.

Main Stealer!, Milners, Japarts, japanese4x4spares, other?

Stuff like that I get from my local place but I'm very lucky I have a massive independent auto factors near me. Milners would probably be next if they didn't hae it though.

took ages fo rme to sort out..

in the end id done so much it wasnt the same car...

A good tip on stopping damp problems is coat connections etc with electrical silicone grease. Works every time.
