I mentioned the mirror problem to a local windscreen fitter, he said to be carefull to use the correct adhesive to fix the mirror, he said the wrong stuff could cause stress fractures

Well hopefully when the new one Is on I won't be using any adhesive :lol
 
One came off in a company owned Vectra once, I tried all the usual double sided tapes for mirrors, but they didn't work, they held it ok, but the first time you adjust it without holding the arm, off it came.:doh

So I cleaned the area with cellulose paint thinners and applied a thin layer of araldite, but it started to slide down the screen, so I rigged up a yard brush to press against it, from the seat.
I left it overnight, fortunately it didn't move and was very secure.

When or if it ever needed a replacement windscreen, then that would be a challenge to remove it lol.
 
Well the chap is here now going to town on my poor old girl.. didnt realise the snorkel has to come off to get access to the screen :doh
