The hardest part would be lifting the front. A basic prop spacer is a piece of piss.

Anyway when you start lifting even the rear axle more than 2-3" you put more stress on the UJs as they have to work harder.

Very true , UJ will go first . HD ones are available though the main problem is the bigger angle they work at. Landie boys can buy such things off the shelf, T2 will need more research and probably fabricating.
Front end big lift involves dropping the sub frame holding the front diff etc I think.
I still reckon it's pointless over a couple of inches as everything else starts to fail or be compromised badly.
I reckon the sensible limit on the T2 is 33s
After that you can get away with 35s but with loads of mods.
Beyond that buy a different truck :naughty

max 2" suspension lift recommended on landrovers, even on 2" lift it's wise to use wide angled props etc if you want to get serious flex otherwise you can get prop lock.

If you were going through the trouble of dropping the front sub frame you might aswell put a front live axle on.

So no one knows how to fit the kit that makeitfit supplied a link to then lol

It has an instruction link on the page...

http://xpajun.com/fitting.htm

Basically, undo some bolts, some after removing either tape or bungs to find them... Lift up one side of body (Unless you have 2 jacks!, stick bits of wood... er I mean aluminium blocks where the bolts pass through, and then fit the longer bolts... repeat on both side... Fit gear lever extension.

Double check you did them all back up tight enough, mod the radiator cowling, and check a few pipes etc, just in case they are pulling tight.

10 mins, and your done....:lol

Fantastic, thanks for the link I didn't spot that
I'll be giving this a go soon and I probs wont end up going any higher than 2" anyway so shouldn't have any issues in that respect

no need for the transfer box leaver extension. If you decide you need one I have one laying about.

By the way that guide is for a shogun, but the basics are the same.

It's only really relevant if you're doing a 4" suspension lift for example , OR going for massive rear end articulation.
That sort of thing is easily done on live axles but really awkward with IFS
Easy to make though , probably just get a bit of bar the right diameter and cut a chunk off , drill some holes and Bob's your Fanny's aunt :thumbs

Not quite at that point yet, but got a feeling my springs were more than 2" :augie as old original shock were bottoming out over speed bumps been replaced with new +2" ones now!! :thumb2

so gonna need to keep an eye on the also gonna make up some dislocation & retainer sets for the springs. :thumb2

Right, going to resurrect this one as I've decided I need me some more ground clearance as I'm sick of seeing these stupid Discoveries on stilts on my local lanes and I can't follow their tracks because I would bottom out in the middle :(

So after using the search function and reading back through this thread and some others I think I know what I need but just want you guys to confirm;

A set of these Dislocation Cones
http://www.paddockspares.com/pm640-...co-1-range-rover-classic-and-defender-90.html

A set of Rough Country 680mm Shocks from these guys
http://www.llama4x4.co.uk/

Whack those is in then crank the torsion bar again?

Once I've done this, will is still be able to do a body lift as well using this set from Milner?

http://www.milneroffroad.com/ford/m...0-accessories-2/r20-body-lift-kit-1-12-inch-2

Or will I have to do a lot of modification regarding brake hoses, transfer lever for 4x4 etc?

Yes you can lift the body later if you want but get the spacers from xpajun, a bit cheaper :thumbs
What size tyres are you going for ?

Well at the moment I'm running BFGoodrich 31's
I'd like to swap the Mav wheels for some Nissan 16's rather than the Ford 15's and then run some 33's on them

That possible?

33s good choice and the quickest way out of the ruts :D
Makes no odds 15s or 16s:cool:

I have been intouch with llama about the +2" rear shocks.
there reply was we don't stock them?
are they meant to fit something else but fit the terrano?
also how hard is it to do the front torsion bar lift?
this is my next job after the snorkel..

Torsion bar is pretty painless :), I struggled t first but think I was just having a blonde week, when I was under the car and just tackled it, it was a piece of piss

I'm sure BigCol posted the model number of the ones for the Terrano somewhere let me have a look
