I've got an 01 SWB with 16" alloys and current tyre on them is a road 235/70/16 after reading the forums quite a bit sounds like I can get away with 31" diameter tyres without too much rubbing and without doing any body lifts (though planned for the future). So just wondering if I am missing out on anything as I can't find any 31" MTs, been looking at Insa Turbo Dakar and Sahara but neither give me any more height as I think the nearest I could get is 235/70/16 and couldn't goto 235/85/16 as they'd be too big. Any suggestions really appreciated.

Cheers

Tim

You might need to go to 15" rims then you can fit 31/10.5/15s - though having just had a quick look that won't help you with insa's.

What about Marix tyres - they do one in the same Yokohama copy as the sahara - call it puma

Prices from Sowden tyrs on Difflock recently for them

195/15 £53
215/75/15 £54
235/75/15 £57
205/70/15 £53
225/70/15 £56
265/70/15 £67
30.9.50.15 £65
31.10.50.15 £69
205/16 £60
225/70/16 £59
235/70/16 £54
265/70/16 £59 - thats pretty near 31/10.5/16
215/65/16 £65
235/60/16 £60
265/75/16 £73

Fedima also do that tread pattern - though can't find any prices though they do them here but they only have prices on line for the 35" ones

Sowden Tyres is between Leeds and Bradford btw not far off the M62 - bit of a rip for you but could be worth itMark Sowden is a regular poster on difflock and seems to know his 4x4 tyres, he's not just a tyre salesman like most you'll find.

Well I went for the Marix Puma in 265/70/16 and they were very tight, I've had to nudge(with a block hammer) the seem on the sill an cut a bit of the inner arch plastic in order to stop them catching but they look the nuts give about an inch of lift and aren't too bad on the road. Willsee what they are like in the sticky stuff this weekend. Will add some pics soon.
