307 air con issue

So I have a 2002 Peughot 307 the air con used to be sound really cold. Then nothing so I had the pump changed and air con re gassed.

It worked for like an hour then stopped since then it has worked on like 2 occasions out of twenty.

Gas has been re checked/gassed by the garage today and they couldnt find a leak they have put a tracer in it and told me to come back in 10 days to check the leak.

But again no air con.

You hear the click of the pump everytine you turn it on but vert rarley any cold air coming through.

Its my thought that there can not be a leak due to the fact it works sporadically and the pump is ok as it has just been changed and you can hear it coming on each time

Do not know about your motor specifically, but as you have changed the compressor I have to ask "why", the next area is pressure switches that may be playing about, but top of the list "was it vac ed down" prior to recharge, if it was not then moisture in the system will turn to ice and block it so causing the high pressure switch to activate, this is typical of your kind of intermittent operation, Rick

Mate I have never owned any vehicle that had problem free air con. Even my truck now decided to stop working.
Anyway, sounds like you've an intermittent electrical fault. Have you tried the pug forums? We had a 306 a few years ago and got a lot of questions answered, and again with the xsara picasso forum more recently.:nenau
I don't get any problems with French cars anymore cos I refuse to buy one ever again:doh :lol
