Nope , you'll be taking washers out not in. Chances are you wont be able to get neg camber at all with 3" lift. So you'll need custom UCA or calmini for example.
Look at the manual though as you'll only be working in fractions of an inch to change bits of a degree camber

but the front cant travel anymore :doh you're just starting off higher up :banghead

Yeh but if you are driving fast and getting airborne then the more travel u have left to soak the landing or big bumps, the less chance you have of bottoming out, simple stuff.

You build your truck for what you need.

You need articulation, lots of travel and droop, I need lots of travel but I need to be high so I have plenty to soak up high speed hits and jumps.

I know that , I'm just trying to explain that the T2 simply doesn't have any travel up front to speak of. Which is also why I said you need some serious shocks on the front to take the sting out of your landings.
If you go ahead with your plans don't forget to adjust your castor angle too as all the front geometry will be out of range. If you look at the manual it has a chart on how to shim the UCA to correct the castor. Do it the same time as camber.

you would be better off doing a spring conversion.

Sounds like a lot of trouble for very little or no gain. But go ahead by all means, also pics!

Well, It wouldn't be too much hassle to make some loops to mount some coilovers on under front arches

Basically I just want to do this in my terrano :sly

no fooking chance tho :lol

Ay that thumping great oil burner up front wont be doing you any favours there :lol
As we said before Fox type shocks or fill yer boots and go coil over :D
If coil over route the chassis extension (to fix the top) does need to be substantial though. However you can make it higher than the std shock ht and so give you more size options to choose from.
There'll still be no more travel but at least you should be able to control it better
:sly

Indeed. Most of the best desert racers have long travel ifs, due to the lower unsprung weight compared to solid axles, but that vid shows how good a solid can be tho

But like u say, Ain't getting no long travel ifs on Terrano without spending thousands and rebuilding the whole front end

I bet that's still got it's torsion bars on  The idea is to get bigger shocks/coil overs to deal with the massive loads under landing impact. That little jobbie will be fine on a fiesta :lol It's still got it's arb on too and std top arm, phft

Would the system in the picture still be restricted on It's travel then?

Would the system in the picture still be restricted on It's travel then?

Yep  I've got more unrestricted travel on mine but only a little bit, but every little helps
The travel is restricted by the drive shaft and cy joints, and subsequently the control arms. I've modified mine top and bottom :naughty

Interesting thread...

So, obviously I will be safe with my planned...

+2 inch springs on rear
+2 inch torsion bar lift on front
All four mud flaps removed
31/10.5/15 tyres
-10 mm ET (offset) 15 inch modular wheels...

Anything else I need to do?

I think I will need...
+2 inch longer dampers on the rear.
To remove rear ARB.

Do I need to re-adjust anything on castor, camber etc.

Any gains from removing front ARB?

Yep, that's what I'm doing, except hopefully a bit more on rear. First thing I did was remove arb and this makes a massive difference to the rear end.
