Hi, newbie here, my first post.
I bought a 55 plate Teraano 3.0 Commercial to use our kick bout dog van about a month ago - but truth be told I'm quite liking the van and I'm now pretty much using it daily.
I've done a few wee things to it, underlay and carpet in the back along with a half bulkhead, changed stereo for Pioneer one with bluetooth.
Look forward to asking many, m any questions and share anything I come across too.

Anyhow, I'm after roof rails for the van, not too keen on the basic workman style but I have seen a few 3 dr Terranos and Mavericks with what look like OEM roof rails ( that run front to back).
1. Anyone know where these can be obtained?
2. How do the fix on?
Looking at the roof, I can't see any gutter or mounting points.

Cheers

Aaron

welcome pal :thumb2

a member on hear called cncfabs breaks them,
pm him he might have some roof rails
if you search the post on here i`m sure ive seen some been fitted with captive nuts

you got any pictures ? we like pictures :clap

regards andy

Cheers, will look him up.

Here's a quick pic of the day I got it, looks the same as of now, but either ordering up a set of cooper discoverer or goodyear all terrain tyres soon, the tyres are all a mismatch at the moment.

55 plate, 48k miles, few wee spots of paint to sort but nothing drastic.

looks well does that mate, :thumbs

you might want to wind torsion bars up a bit, not a big job
get the front a bit higher.
they tend to sag a bit on the front
more room for your tyres :clap

Sounds good, it's slightly smaller tyres on the front than the back, which prob emphasises the slightly low look on the front too.

smaller tyres on the front ?
thats probably why it looks low at he front
is that how it came ?

Yeh, originally a farmers wife's car.
Scottish farmers don't like spending too much money, so I guessing they were a trade ads find and replaced buckshee!
That's why quite high up on my list a set of four matching tyres......and for some reason I've got a weird desire to get ones with white lettering of some sort!!

yeah im after some tyres, nut sure about the white lettering tho :augie:
been searching the net , its done me head in :doh

cooper discovery seem the tyre of choice , but what size to go for

want to go up a size or two,
it might make the speedo read more accurately :naughty

Looking through some posts, I seen some pics of a roof of a terrano swb by Banshee, they look good OEM lwb roof rails he has fitted to his swb.

Nice :thumbs

Good to see another commercial on here, I'm currently converting my 96' SWB into one, click the link in my sig for my project thread

Roof Rails do what I did

The SWB ones are too short, get LWB ones and angle grind them down to size, that way they stretch the entire length of the roof and if you plan on putting a bar on at any point for spotlights you'll be able to get them right up front rather than them sitting nearer the sunroof just lighting the roof up :doh

Must admit, the commercial / van is handy.
Plus no complaints on the 3.0 / swb combi......plus I may have sneaked on a DTUK tuning box - the torque on all revs plus no weight in back does surprise a few others on the road!
Always thought a bit strange, nissan didn't like the idea of a 3.0 swb combination with seats but happy to have that combination in a van style that weighs even less!

I was thinking just going up a little to 245/65/17 myself.
I'm a bit wary going too big and putting pressure on steering etc.

Awesome :)

I'd never be able to have a 3.0l though, I've saved way way way too much money running my 2.7 on veg to know better

Nice looking truck:thumb2 I've owned both SWB & LWB, TBH i've found the SWB more fun to drive as you can really chuck it about on twisty roads in the dry:D I'm running cooper discoverer at3's in the standard size 235/65R17 & like them as they grip better in the wet than the road tyres they replaced & they are no louder than the road tyres. Not used them off road yet so don't know what they are like first hand in mud (thick clay around here) but on rock or gravel I think they'll be great

Tyres and front ride height sorted

Nearly new Goodyear Wrangler HP all weathers fitted this weekend, 5no., bit bigger than OEM size, from a Navara, fit well with an easy 10mm clearance to mudflaps. Levelled up the front torsion bars too - couldn't believe how easy it was to do.

Still miss my wee rav4 though.....

Just put LWB roof rails on, the bases will fit the roof profile properly :thumb2
