3.0 Thermostat location

Very silly question. Where is the thermostat located on the 3.0 engine?

I don't have a manual and can't find an exploded view for this engine and can't locate the thermostat housing. I had assumed it was in the aluminium housing attached to the large bore top hose but this is square section inside, no joy there.

Anyone?

Thanks, thats the nearest I got to a drawing of it. I traced the hose back to that location but I can only see the wrong end of a couple of studs from above but cant be sure its the thermostat housing. Hmmm.

Can't immediately see how to get to the heads of those bolts.

I do have a 3.0ltr sat out on the garden but it's under a sheet with a couple of inches of snow on it.
If i get the chance today i will pop the bonnet and have a look :thumb2

Very helpful links to the Trols, I suspect the location is same but the last pipe connection may be slightly different. Will try and expose the connection via the wheel arch to see where the bolts come in from, suspect the come out from the front but can't even get me findertips on them. I like to a a good feel for what I am getting into so I don't end up with a dismantled car and fading light!

I did the glow plugs last week, got all set up for siezed/snapped plugs and they turned out to be loose, as in finger tight only.

I think the stat may be faulty or even missing as heater matrix takes forever to warm up. I have flushed the cooling system and the matrix until running completely clear and no air in it.
