Ok my second problem is a bit odd, the roof lining is wet above the passenger door and i can hear water sloshing! im guessing the sunroofs leaking but i cant find where from, also the footwell is damp. Do you think it could be the drain blocked? it sounds like the whole of the A pillar is full of water

Common problem....you need to slide the sunroof back, find something very long and thin, like a welding rod, to poke down the drain holes (can't remember if theres one either side but you'll soon see), and then hope they aren't leaking at the bottom end....you'll soon know if you end up with water in the footwell!

Ceiling wire here we come, something else to add to my little list, i manged to cure the headlamp washer, it was washing everytime you started the engine. Fuse out job done :thumbs

Was it working independently of the screen wash then?

Headlamp washers should only work when you operate the screen wash and even then ONLY when the headlights or sidelights are on? I'd suggest you are looking for a short downstream of the steering column stalk thats somehow making the circuit think BOTH criteria are being met....

yeah completeley on its own, everytime you turn the key the headlamps got washed:lol thought it was a safety feature for winter driving :lol. I'll get the multi meter out and see if i can find a short anywhere obvious if not the fuse can stay out.

Well good luck - just bear in mind what I said above about the operating procedure, might give you a bit of logic to work through....but you're right, a short sounds the most likely candidate....could be someones had the bumper off recently?

Sounds like the hose has come off from the sunroof drain outlet.
Had the same problem wet ceiling, floors etc..poked a plastic cord down it but it was only going across the ceiling and not down the hose :( wasn't until I took the ceiling off the I found out the hose had come a drift at the outlet connection :)

Have a look in the downloads on how to fix the sunroof drain ;)

If not that then it could be blocked at the exit behind the mud flaps, often silt builds up in there.

Good Luck
