hi guys

Been camping for the weekend in the truck and done a modest 172 mile round journey fully loaded with all the camping gear in the back and 1/4 loaded roof rack oh and the 2 kids and wife lol.

the yellow fuel light hasnt come on yet either (and it does work)

im also running 31x10.5x 15 mud tyres and its a 2.7 tdi lwb

it was a mixture of country roads , A roads and a short journey each way on the motorway

i wasnt leathering it but at the same time kept to the speed limits on the various A roads and country lanes sometimes 50 down to 30
then on the motorway kept to about 65

i was bang on empty when i filled the tank with £40 of diesel
and now its on the red line.

ive equated it to about 28 mpg

diesel cost £1.43

so approx 27.9 litres

just wondering if thats a good return ?

Not a terribly accurate way to work it out but, if you are actually getting 28 mpg, I'd say that's about good all loaded up:thumbs
I've just found my mpg has gone up massively since the LPG has gone on :D
and that's on 33" tyres and lead boots :naughty

well it is, if it is accurate, but your method is rather a guess, a more accurate way is to fill the tank to the brim, do your miles and then fill up again to the brim, note your miles and fuel used then do the calc, this way you are not in any way relying on the fuel gage which at best can be misleading, Rick

Ah well you'll have to wait :sly I had to do a trip to Swansea on friday , about 100 mile there n back. Did it on about 15 litres with the LPG on . I'm in the middle of a full tank of bio and lpg to see waht it comes out at when refilled:D
I was getting about 26 ish 28 if I had to be good:doh
I'll post the figures asap:thumbs

id say that was a good return yes taking into everything into account. :thumb2

Now how do you work out mpg when you change tyres 31 10.5 15, I now how to do it as standard size.

illy

The best way I think is to use the sat nav and speedo function . That will give you a comparison between real GPS speed and the reading on the speedo. Use that factor to correct the odometer :thumbs
