So there are the tyres on my car. Wanted to know if I can get some cheecky height by making them a little bigger?

My previous post also shows I will prop run some ATs

Ah so not sensibly then. I thought just the 70 bit made the difference but i suppose the width plays a part too

Depends on how the size is quoted :lol

A lot of sizes are quoted with a mix of metric and imperial eg. mine are 265/70R16 - first figure is width in mm (265); second is sidewall height as % of width (70%); third is the size of rim it fits on in inches, just to be awkward :doh (16") = basically 31" diameter (30.5" if you're being exact).

BUT some sizes are also quoted all in inches eg. my old shogun had 31.10.50R15 which is 31" diameter, 10.5" wide, 15" rim.

Yes you can go larger on the 17's:thumbs 245/70R17 = 30.5" 255/70R17 = 31.5 which might catch, the 245/70R17 is prob the best option & they are about the same price as the standard size, i'm running Cooper DISCOVERER A-T3 not had them off road yet but on road they grip far better than the road tyres they replaced & only knocked the mpg down by 1

you will soon pick it up, i did, but i did it by shoving tyres on and then making the truck fit them :lol :lol

245/70R17 should fit ok you might have to either trim the front mud flaps or take them off as for price it cost me £408 for 4 cooper AT3's 235/65R17 but the larger size is about the same price infact one place I looked online were cheaper but you should get 50-60K out of them. Bull bars look nice but they also reduce your front end clearance:doh
