Just got a 2001 terrano, the thing that bugs me is the indicator on the left of the steering wheel. Question can they be swaped over to the right ? If not do later models Have them on the right? If so are they a straight swap? Other family cars are on the right and we all forget they are on the left.

anything is possible with enough modification, the boys on here are good with grinders and welders but i think that you may be flogging a dead horse if you were going to try to convert this to the other side.

What about finding an import one some times imports are other way around

I'v driven loads of cars over the years some on the left some on the right, left hand drive, right hand drive, it doesn't take you long to adapt. just live with it for a bit. you'l soon get used to it:cool:

Agree, that is the sensible answer to it, Rick

My brother wanted to do this as he has just brought a Jimny and they are now on the right hand said and he was looking into swapping them but he said he's used to it now

Just throwin' this in from left field...

...what about converting the other vehicles to match the Terrano?

:augie

I'm with this, it's not that difficult to get used to it. I even managed to learn to drive a LHD with few initial problems.

The reason I asked in the first place is we alternate between vehicles and one tends to forget and hits the wipers. Either vehicles

At one time i had a left hand drive car with the indicators on the right and a right hand drive van with the indicators on the left. Your brain is an-amazing thing after a few weeks I could swap about without even thinking.
But I know what you mean, I have an auto T2,the first time I got in a manual for over a year it was like I had never driven one before, there was crunching:doh

Hi Monty. What other vehicles do you drive that have indicators on the right. I can only remember 1 and that's an old merc flatbed truck I drive maybe once a year!
Also, where about in Anglia are you?

Ian

As far as I know both LHD & RHD R20's have the indicators on the left & wipers on the right as i've seen photo's of a lot of LHD ones & this is how they are set up:augie

Many drivers don't know where the indicator stalk is anyway, judging on how many don't use them when they change lanes, overtake, or turn left at roundabouts...:doh

So join the growing number of morons on the roads...

:lol

Reminds me of the "Golden egg cup" episode of the Royle family...

When a van cuts them up... Jim in the back says "flash your head lights at him...."

Jim :- "That's shown him Dave... wash your windscreen at him..."

Dave :- " Well this is Twiggies car... the wipers are on the other side to my van"
