Is there a way to quick shift from 4wd low into 2wd low ?
I think Rick did something similar but buggered if I can get anything back from Mr Search :nenau

Only way to do it Pete is put the transfer box into permanent low, then you can select 2 or 4 at will but you lose access to high, Rick

I was afraid of that . As I'm keeping it a road going truck that's not an option sadly. How about 4wd low straight to 2wd high ?

Doubt it's what you want Pete but I had manual hubs on my old truck which allowed me to use low box with the hubs unlocked as well.
Wonder if there is anything solenoid related that would switch the hubs in some way?

Electrically Lockable/Unlockable Hubs :sly :naughty

I've not learned how gearboxes and transfer box do their magic lol I find a need sometimes on trials to kick the arse end out more. So to be able to quickly shift from 4wd low to high then neutral to 2wd high and back is the trick. Electric hubs though 💪😉

Suzuki Jimny's lock their front hubs via vacuum, surely a man of your calibre go get a set to fit a Terrano :nenau :sly

You have that already but as not syncro you have to stop to do it, Rick

Remote controlled hubs then is the only other way, sounds expensive though, and even then you will get some crunching from your transfer box as said it is not syncro, Rick

He might get away with it as if he's just dropping out of 4 LOW All Wheels to 4 LOW Rear Wheels Only to powerslide around corners I can imagine he has a very finite space to do it in so I'd say he would be going slow enough for it to work without much issue.

My worry would be killing the CV joints and or Hubs

Rear wheel steering is the only and best way to go, the same as what all the other comp trucks do.

Or put the controls in from a tracked digger and use steering by driving or braking only one side of wheels at a time :D

What about some fiddle brakes to the rear? Not sure how well they would work combined with the LSD though.

That's going to need a disc conversion and some double caliper action, no? :naughty

think fiddles are iffy on a road going vehicle with Mr Tester.

could the lever for transfer be split to two levers, sure have read of it in US truck mags
years ago, perhaps variation on the red and yellow levers found in series landies?

one for hi/low
one for 2/4.

A hydraulic handbrake would be a simple upgrade and I've also seen people using 2 transfer boxes. Be like a mountain bike lol
