for me though a truck isnt dressed without the ability to tow at an
instants notice. that ready for anything.
I know about the legalities but best thing I ever did was remove the plough that was the tow bar and convert from 2 to 1 sockets, means I can off road without catching the back all the time. And also my trailer now tows at the correct height as you can get things like 0-12 inch drops on the tow balls.

I bought essentially the bit you can see from USA via ebay. then cut the old tow bar piece off leaving just the bar that goes from left to right. then cut and weld the receiver onto that remaining bar, also welded cut down plate for electrical socket and a plate with hole for anchor chain.
