Will you be able to sell meyour old bottom pulley please :naughty

Hi Makeitfit, can you post a photo or mail it to me at [email protected] so I can explain to garage what you need,as far as I'm concerned it shouldn't be a prob, will be talking to him Monday pm.As long as it's not needed on the changeover it's yours, will let you know next week:thumb2

Hi Makeitfit, bad news I'm afraid need my bottom pulley as not one with replacement bottom engine. The guy I bought it from has a spares stock so will contact him as he wants to know good sites in UK to buy from even if RHD(French!) and parts as cheaper than here.If you know of any other than e-bay,autotrader or gumtree would appreciate it.Will do my best to sort you out a bottom pulley:thumb2

Makeitfit, sent you a private message,I'm guessing it's not the power steering pulley but need to confirm before I get back to the guy,if you're still interested let me know.

No it's the bottom pulley or Crank pulley. it's the one that's attached to the end of the crankshaft :thumb2
Sorry been working away from home just in now

would you know if it is the same as a T2, petrol or diesel, I have both, Rick

Now I know the exact bit I can check out the replacement engine, failing that I contacted the guy I bought it from and now I've translated the name I can check him out as he said he had quite a bit of stock.

Brief update,Trol still in dry dock, carlift at garage(one of two) still broken down pushing me back down the queue as it's a favour not an earner,so getting fed up:doh. On top of that the garagist has been on holiday and now away on training!!!!:doh. Will have to apply some pressure.Sorry Makeitfit but replacement lower engine didn't have the dumper pulley, saw one on Leboncoin here in France for 80 euros, thought it a bit steep. If you're still looking for one I could ask some of the advertisers breaking cars if they have one at sensible prices, only problem being postage as they're all over France, some may be nearer to you than me!

Thanks for your efforts . I'll be doing mine next month and will just use the one off my engine. I was just trying to save time with the engine out of action. No worries. Cheers :D

Just went down to see the garagist where my Troll is to find he has sold the business,my car and engine are still there now I've got to find out where I stand with him and get the bloody thing sorted!:(:doh

Oh man!!!! Sounds like you've had a right game!!!!

I'd get it out of there sharpish in case the premises changes hands and you find yourself arguing with the new owners that it's your car etc etc

What's the plan now?

Apparently already changed hands:eek:,talked to the new owners who know it's my stuff and they seem ok(so far),the former owner is going to be told I passed and to call me.I'll want to have a chat with him and see what's what, pickaxe handle being loaded shortly.Good job the garage is right opposite the hospital!!!:naughty
On a serious note I don't think there should be issues, the guy has always bent over backwards to be helpful.Think he's had enough of the long days,French charges/taxes and has jumped at a chance to get out and work for a CT station(MOT centre):doh

Old girl up on carlift, engine out and in transplant mode to bought block.Profited by taking off old mudflaps and sidesteps, going to ask a good mate to make some sliders at some point.Found a couple of holes at front footwells, not too bad for a 22yr old that put up with Swiss snow and salt! All in all she looks pretty good underneath, looks like she was protected against the savage climate! The paintwork is looking a bit tatty, lacquer peeling(get loads of that on various makes here in France),rust on l/hand arches will need a bit of repairing and on the rear l/hand door.Maybe I should sandblast her gently and matt black her bodywork:augie. She should be back rolling very soon:bow

Head transplanted onto donor block,3 glow plugs,EGR blank, rocker box, timing assembly ready to go on,after that car back up on lift ready for refit, can't wait.

All fitted, running, only speedo and rev counter not working(replacement dash fitted) so hoping to rectify this but the big old girl is back on the road:clap:thumb2:bow

About ready for oil change, speedo working, rev counter to do,couple of little noises(non important) but niggling, fuel pump adjusted to give better acceleration. After that bit by bit repair/replace any tatty bits, maybe a lift, want to use for camping/minor explorations(to start with).Taken off all the old panel adhesives, paint fade in evidence but better than faded stickers!Got to change turbo return hose(ordered from Nissan at 34 euros:doh),oh well she's well worth it:thumb2:)
