2.7 radiator differences

Hi,

Just bought an accident damaged 2004 terrano van, it needs a radiator, it's a 2.7 diesel, what years are compatible, eg will a 1996 radiator fit my 2004 or were there differences?

I could be wrong but I think they are all the same one the TDI models

Tip:-
You can always look for a new one on the internet, and they usually list all models it is compatible with, if both your Terrano and the donor one are in the same list, then, you should be fine.

I use this method a lot when searching for parts, for anything...:thumb2:thumb2

The problem with older ones, is that they may be near the end of their life, make sure you back wash out the old radiator, as it will probably be full of crud.

Its a new one iam looking at, but the cheeper ones on ebay are all listed for pre 2003 it seems.

My local parts shop wants £160 + Vat!!!

I am only guessing, but I think the 1993 to 1996, are more likely to be for the WD21 style, so would probably not fit. Does it definitely say Terrano II. It's amazing how many little differences there are between T1 and the T2.

That would suggest they are the same?

If the engine is the same, eg, pipe outlets/hoses i can soon adapt the mounts!

£60 delivered compared to £120-200 is a bit of a saving!

Definetly won't fit pre intercooler ones are smaller than intercooled ones

The core is slightly narrower but it is thicker, the pipe outlet's are in the same place tho, as are the mounts it seems, so cant see it being a problem to fit, and it should work equally fine!

You will have to modify the mountings the early rad is shorter

From what i can see its only about 30mm so just need to make new top mounts that are a bit lower!
