2.7 Mistral Engine Management light problem ..

Hi all ..

Over the past few months i have a had a slight intermittant problem with the engine management light coming on while running. Occasionally the engine would struggle and lose power but would return to normal within a minute and the light would go out ..

However over the past few days it has got worse with the same symptoms ... engine light comes on and she loses power. I have noticed that if i go into neutral and rev the engine it quite often clears things and the light goes off and power returns ... however when i return back into drive and normal revs it starts again ...

Is it something i can sort like a fuel filter etc or does she need to go into my local garage ...

try cleaning the switch on the accelerator with switch cleaner, can't remember the technical name of it?

something to do with idling I think, Worth a shot if you have switch cleaner already.

Does it get worse in the rain?

Airflow meter might be worth checking or put it on diagnostics to see what code it is throwing up. :thumbs

doesnt seem to get worse in rain ... does it anytime but quite regular now. Im going to change the fuel filter today as its not been changed in the 18 months ive had it .. think i need to take it in to garage and on the diagnostic tester ..

out of interest is the fuel filter replacement quite easy on these ?

any tips
