I think I was the one that suggested the MAF:thumbs:lol
Ok after taking it ,truck, out last night I did about 7mls no trouble.
Got revamped this morning and set off to mablethorpe.
20mls out and bloody motor started doing the same as befor, low power loosing throttle and missfiring with smoke and unburn fuel smell.
Pulled of off road and played with all connections but it took forever to get it to rev to 3000 with smoe and missing.
Reset of to get where I am this weekend and it was slow going ad it did not want to pull to get revs
Tikking over ok did not like to rev.
Parked van and kept using throttle to get revs up and finally it held revs at 4000.
Up and down no missfire and smooth tickover,so came in for a coffee.
If I can get the maf out to clean I will as its a bosch.
Then the proof is in the pudding as to if it runs ok.
My next site I am at on Monday and there for 9 nights so more time to get to the bottom of it.

you cant really clean a bosch, only the hitachi, though you might as well because if it is caked in crud then it isn't self cleaning, also clean up the mesh at either end of the MAF housing. A new maf isn't too expensive for these trucks, should be around £50..
I've just done a write up with plenty pics for cleaning a Hitachi, just waiting on BAT to upload it :thumb2
Hitachi are self-cleaning and should be left well alone
I have replaced the full length of fuel pipe from the tank to filter.
I have had pick up out of tank and now just have a pick up in tank, straight to New pipe.
I run a large inline clear filter missing the on board one.
It's just been changed and fuel is spotless.
I have put nothing but derv in to top tank up.
I have an inline lift pump just befor the Ip.5lps pressure.
The banjo is clean as I had it out.
The fault is intermittent.
I have left tank filler off just in case.
It does take a while to start as though there is no fuel, when it starts no smoke with throttle.
Plugs tested ok.o
I can't find where the fuel is coming from though.
I think pump seal is duff.
Does anyone on the site do a mobile pump seal replacement.I am disabled and its past me now.
Can't think what else it ca n be,maybe the Ip senser.
Running out of ideashard now.
no, bosch are self cleaning, hitachi can be cleaned:thumbs
I knew what I meant and so did you![]()
Today I started it took a bit of turning over, started and had throttle, did a few revs and missfire started.let it idle and down to the mark above 0.
Bad idle no throttle can't pull away.
Turn it off restart it and throttle and revs are there for a bit then if i let revs drop below 1000 it goes back to no throttle and bad idle.
I have no codes as no reader, rac chap had reader but not to fit this plug.
Does anyone live near mablethorpe with a reader and willing to come here fancy coming to help please.
