2.7 engine weight?

bit of a random question for you guys anyone know how much the td27 weighes?:nenau ive searched google and this forum and can`t seem to find any answer, ive been day dreaming about diesel powered classic cars:lol and i like too get some facts gathered! 2.7 baja beetle any one:naughty

Do not have the kit to weigh an engine but judging by my engine hoist I would say around 600kg mine is in old tons and at half ton reach it only just does it but need that reach to get central over the engine for balance and as a Tonne is a little less than a Ton I assume around 600 kg, hope this helps, Rick

thanks for the reply`s i`m still very curios as to the actual weight it`s bugging me to the point im going to remove the engine from a scraper ive got and take it to a weigh bridge:lol

If the engine is too big for the scales, then spread the load across two sets, then add both weights together. Simples ! :doh
