hi please help ,I joined this site to try and help a friend she has an old r reg terrano 2 high mileage,recently we fitted new front exhaust manifold,her old one was cracked,hopeing the thing would run better,it has slight blow on rear tail pipe witch im gonna fix,but it keeps stalling all the time unless you do about 90 miles.im thinking iac ,thinking off removeing and cleaning,has any one got pic what it looks like and is it bolted on or do I need torque drive sockets:nenau:thumb2thanks

I would be cleaning the maff first, what are you calling the iac? Rick

Start with the easy bits before stripping everything to pieces.
 
hi though there was a valve iac they get shitty and make car run crap and you use carb cleaner to clean nr throttle bodie,i think this is what they call single point injection?? any how the maf can I clean it with carb cleaner and do I have to disconnect batt to stop error codes

OK the Maf is on the throttle body, three screws and a plug, go extremely gentle on the two wires nothing more than a touch with a cotton bud in spirit, no it is not single point injection but multi point, ie each pot has its own injector, Rick
 
there is a control valve on the throttle body in fact there are two but only one is connected, its job is to speed the engine on startup, I have mine disconnected as I want a slow idle till the oil light goes out, if this valve has jambed open maybe it could be causing your problem, Rick
