It is definitely one of the best cars I have ever towed with, doesn't seem to car what you put on the back.I towed a caravan for the 1st time with the Maverick today, it feels a lot more secure than pulling with a car, the mav feels in control apposed to the van bouncing the car all over the place :thumbs
I have just arrived in South of France e route to Cambrils in Spain.this was my first tow with the vehicle . I have a 2003 2.7tdi LWB. 800 miles
Pulls like a dream,averaging 26mpg at 55-60 mph. Pulling Burstner caravan 1300kgs.
I am sure I could get a better return at 50 mph.
Tomorrow we head into Spain, it will be a good test of both vehicle and caravan as there are 35mph winds forecast,.
I am confident that it will behave well under these windy conditions. Has anyone experience towing in windy conditions

just got back from my first tow with the same t2 320mls and did not know i was towing, had to drop to 3ed two times up long grades up in the dales.well impressed apart from the fuel used compared to my zx.
Scary question, how bad is fuel economy when pulling a caravan?
