1998 Terrano SWB R20 2.7D non starter - electrics

Could some help , I have just purchased a terrano that was a non runner and someone has tried to get it going.
I have both original keys with red plugs in the keys , and two separate key fobs for un locking and locking both keys fit the drivers door and ignition

one main problem is under the bonnet and to right of the battery I have three wiring plugs on the 1st plug it has 3 wires and is right next to a large round plug.

The small 3 wire plug has tree wires

1 input Yellow with red tracer ---- engine loom-- Black

2 input Yellow -------------------- engine loom Brown

3 input Green with red tracer -------- engine loom Black with white tracer

The Black/w lead has been cut off about one inch and looks as if it has been cut to test something but the other end is missing have looked down the plastic tube where it disappears into the engine loom

would anyone know where it goes ?? I would think its the fuel shut off fuel pump but not sure and its difficult to trace and I am trying to avoid disturbing too much at this stage

Once I have found this then of course I can try to reset everything and move on

hope someone can just say where it goes

OK so you have a Bosch pump and the black/white wire is indeed the stop solenoid, you need to reconnect this to be able to run the engine, wonder why it was cut? anyway the crinkly trunking is split so prise it apart this wire runs down bare so will be easy to locate the other end, it may have enough slack to re join it with a crimp but if not insert a short bit of wire, Rick

Forgive me Rick are you the person someone said would help me fully understand about the wire i did look down the spit trunking but could not see it so will look at it again tommrow
May i PM you as i see you are in Bexhill and i do need some advice and help happy to pay as i need to get this non runner going before the snow hits us both lol

All up and running

An update on progress

Since buying the Terrano last week finding the forum and having really nice people offer help and advice , I have spent the last couple of days refitting parts removed by an RAC man who was trying to by pass NATS 2 but on looking for the immobilizer he removed the radio and every dash panel that was removable

What was my lucky day was finding Rick lives I recon 3 miles from me and with his advice I have made great progress since Monday This morning a lock guy turned up and 5 mins later all the keys were reprogramed and a fault 54 cleared and it fired into life and drives well so apart from a few little jobs , I am able to drive over and finally meet Rick

So thanks for all your comments and help now I am on the road soon

If you need keys cut or programed call Dave 01435 812242 Heathfield, this guy no B/S and trying to tell me its difficult to do £70 all in all other quotes where twice that

one last thing

The guy who did the key programing told me something that may b important he said don't keep any other car keys on your key ring as if like me you have several keys it could be confused and shut down just a thought

Does anyone know where the n/s head lamp relay is as got power both sides of 15 amp fuse but no power to the head light o/s works fine
