I just got a cheapy but branded pipercross cone, I can now hear my turbo spool lovely in every gear, and you can hear it holding , so get yourself on fleabay, im just a bit concerned about these cheap type filters, next for a manual boost controller :-) 1994 2.7 maverick td

thanks guys it seems ok, as you know how buried the screw is, as I undid the nut the screw turned with it so unsure of what I wound it in by, all I know is I turned it in engine off until I had no play wheels straight ahead, I have driven it and theres a tiny amount of play.

OK so after a battle, I removed the battery as made it tuns easier, I wound in loads of play in the box until success no more saggy box " whilst in there I did find the reason my power steering pump looked like it was going to fall out also ,was the 14mm nut and bolt under the pump was not done...

not really lol, just had a look I can see me adjuster under the battery tray, ive got a flat head screwdriver adjustment.

I cant make anything below the steering box move

the steering column between the bulk head and the steering box, I can grab hold of the column with my hand sliding in underneath the battery and turn the column with free play and watch the steering wheel turn 1" to 1" 1/2 from outside engine off.

My 94 td lwb has maybe 1" 1/2 play left to right on the steering wheel ignition on or off, any suggestion how to tighten her up, thanks

Is it worth removing all the gubbings and sticking a cone filter on the 2.7td , only because I want to hear the turbo spool a little more , if nothing just to how its still there lol
