My last Terrano was a Y reg (2001) and the ECU was in the same place as my 2003 model. When you take all of the middle dash out (Including radio, ashtray and the cubbyhole at the bottom in front of gear sticks), it (ECU) is on top of where the cubbyhole was. You'll have to remove it from it's...

It's behind/on top of the storage pocket below the ashtray, the one at the bottom of centre dash. All the centre dash needs removing(radio,ashtray and all plastics) and centre console needs removing as well.:thumb2

No, it's wired directly into the ECU behind the centre console.:thumb2 Bit of a ball-ache to fit, but worth it. Mine romps up hills in top gear, which before needed a gear change.:D Ring them up and speak to them (Tunit), I got mine for £200 delivered a couple of years ago.
