    Transit

The old ones were bulletproof....you wait until you get a newer one! You will be in for a shock!

    carver cascade 2 heater module

These modules have a design fault - if the module has failed, then buy a NEW one. I have found them for £140 locally, which comes with module and burner. There are stocks around, so look in your camping shops - at mine, it was only £20 more than it cost to get one online. The design fault is...

    Transit

Transits were good vehicles once! The £9 wheel bearing is now, for some unknown reason £268 The rear axles can be problematic - £3k usually sorts it out. The the dual mass flywheel, and the mondeo engine pulling it. That said, the missus runs one at work (non turbo) which has done 180k now...

whats the best nissan for towing a caravan

My old T2 was remapped, and had no issues with power loss, in fact it had bags of it. The only issue I had with our caravan, is that it was getting shoved around, so in the end have sold up and am looking at patrols - I must say, though - I have had a quite look at the cherokees on LPG and they...

    Towing Speed

Don't rely on sat navs, they are not accurate as you may feel they are. It is a calculation worked out from 3 satellites triangulating you position. You have no way of telling if you may lose or have a break in signal at any time with any one. The slightest error, or disturbance can cause the...

    Remote CCTV

NAS hard drive will be the answer! Many come plug in CCTV, so you just need to add the cameras. Cameras are best CCD type ones for quality and night vision. You access your computer through the NAS drive online from anywhere in the world - you can even print on your home printer remotely...

    Camping in France/Spain

Don't forget to apply for your vignettes etc before you go, as these need to be applied two weeks or so in advance IIRC. http://europa.eu/travel/gettingthere/index_en.htm#road Oh, Not sure if you have an ACSI card or not - may be worth getting one. Gives you discounts on sites, (bit like a...

    Towing Speed

Safe is 50, legal max has been raised to 60. There are other reasons why people tow too fast or roll over. 1. Anti snake devices, such as Alco hitches stabilise the trailer. It is a bit of a oxymoron, as all it does in reality is take away the WARNING that you are starting to snake, until it...

    Anyone breaking in Cornwall?

That is Weston area IIRC? I will need it with the bearing/hub in situ, as this one is now welded, so won't be coming off in a hurry! Let me know a price:thumb2

    Anyone breaking in Cornwall?

Where abouts in Somerset? Might be able to drive up, not that far.

    Anyone breaking in Cornwall?

I just popped a half shaft out, and the bearing had come loose and fooked the threads on the nut that held them in. Just loosing the washer at the moment, just going to use the tab washer and weld on temporarily - but will need a new shaft, if anyone is breaking locally.

    Learning to weld

    1. Gas, always gas - choose between co2 or argon. Argon gives a better weld, but more expensive. Get used to it on CO2 first. 2. 20swg mild steel. It is what cars are made from! Either get a sheet from the motor factors, or try on old steel from a scrap yard - though scrap will be harder to...

and now the exhaust has gone

Ebay is the cheapest place, having just ordered a centre section (twin) at £50. Milners were £70, OA were £70, motor factors wanted £170!:lol

    exhaust advice please

02 should have the single centre box, as they changed on the 99/2000 year from twin central, to single central. Having just bought a twin central - ebay is the cheapest place so far at £50.

    lifting my trol

Come on then Rich, Which tv series first coined the phrase? Anyway, Lifting depends on what you want to do with the truck, and why you want the space. So I will give you a quick run-down on pros and cons. BODYLIFT - These are spacers, that lift the body further away from the chassis - if...

    Any ideas?

If steamed, you probably have water in the electrics - never heard of any getting into the engines themselves before...and I have owned 3 valeting companies before over the years. Often, it will get into the electrics - ecu's (though the terrano should be inside) and other places such as fuse...

    Body off the chassie?

Show us your rust!! Bet mine was worse than yours!:lol I know what you mean, though, I was thinking of re-shelling mine if I found one with a blown engine somewhere - then I considerd that it may be easier just to change the engine! Dilemma ehs?

    This EGR valve thingy...

If you take out the EGR, you need to take out the cat as well. You will get better economy, better performance etc as the engine can 'breathe' as it were. up to 94 you can leave it off, after that, it will need putting back together for mot.
