I have master cylinders for £28 inc post but I don't think this is your problem. look at front calipers to see if pistons are returning ok and all working properly. also the rear load sensing valve on the rear axle. I have calipers and/or carriers if you need any.

would check to see if all hydrolics ok. master and slave also rubber flexi on slave. if still no good try changing oil- could be wrong oil or nackered oil. then clutch could be gone.....then box how many miles on it, any service history/receipts- has it had a cluch in the last 100k?! etc

the fuel cap is vented. should not vacuum. I rekon personally that 90/10 veg/ petrol is a bit thick. I don't like using more than 10% petrol unless adding some cheap 2 stroke oil (pump and injector lube). my fav combo is 75/15/10 veg/derv/petrol. but each to their own... and what works for you.

that is cheap for a 90, good buy (but 90's are well over priced) I sold a tidy 04 terrrano lwb for only £500 more! I had a early defender on a h reg some years back. got pissed off with back pain and spending too much time fixing it. still think they look good though.

just a quick update. 1 nakered stop solenoid..... fitted new solenoid and disabled the nats system = 1 reliable navara (hopefully!)

thanks rick. I thought about trying the by- pass wire from s solenoid to bat. if this works just run it from s solenoid to a + on the ignition so it would cancel out the nats permanently. does this make sense? electrics arnt my strong point and I want to avoid problems in the future with it.

no alarm, its basic key in the door stuff! the nats system is the only technical thing on it. they don't have headlight adjusters, variable intermittent wiper, electric windows etc!

its a 2.5 version of the terrano engine. its basically like the early engine in the terrano up until 96. ie manual pump, no maff. but it has the intercooler on. its defo original. ive got 3 of them.

no its standard. they changed the year after mine to the yd 25 Renault clatter bang molten metal engine!
