fault code power loss under load

hi. I cant advise you about the codes but if you read my thread winter woes/dirty diesel. I sounds similar. The problem on mine has disappeared for now. But it originally kicked off with v/low outside temps -17 and seemed to be worsened after driving over some very rough tracks rutted snow etc...

    Winter woes/Dirty Diesel??

Thanks again I look forward to my enlightenment which in turn may be passed to all who may be interested. Whilst the MIL aint on at the moment it was for about 20 mins when the saga began but went back to operating correctly following a switch off and switch on. Cheers Centurion

    Winter woes/Dirty Diesel??

I have looked at both switches on the brake pedal both appear ok. I was going to check the ECU for fault codes but what I assume is the data link connector appears different to that on the service sheet. This one is fixed to a plate on the bottom of the fuse box and there are 16 slots not all...

    Winter woes/Dirty Diesel??

Thanks for that, I have checked the tank etc and all is clean. The culprit is now supected to be the accelerator pedal position sensor. I will do the reset thing so it knows where idle is meant o be and spray everything with WD and see what happens. If on the black side the sensor is goosed...

Hi all, 2001 TDI short w/base The aggravation continues most of my previous probs re poor heater and misfire after start up in extreme cold seem to have been solved or just gone away on their own (as if). It has now developed the following problem which I must admit it had about 18 months...

    How good is your heater?

Heater etc Hi Just to add to my original post. I changed the thermostat and put an 88 degree one in. The rubber seal on the old one appeared perished and I wonder if the coolant was leaking past it but not out of the casing. Anyway problem solved now heats up quicker and runs slightly...

    Maf again??

Hi all 2.7 TDi 2001 or there abouts Can anyone confirm that this may be a MAF fault before I start doing the checks described in the workshop downloads. Outside temp -14 startup fires ok but runs like a bag of hammers and misfires for a couple of minutes. It then smooths out a bit and idles...

    Parts

I recently found this site. Some of the parts are cheaper elsewhere. But I paid a lot more for the cabin filter than the one on this site. Also the exhaust hangers are available when I was told by the guy at National tyre and exhaust that the fitting which holds the centre box to the chassis...

    abs problems

abs Thanks for that but despite the fault indicating the drivers side front sensor which has been changed the fault still shows on the fault reader. I have read on this site some months ago reference to another fault in the wiring harness at the rear of the engine where the harness goes thru...
