Perfect thanks for that will look into it just hope that it is the alternator at fault but wont know till the new one is in place.

:thumb2 right now we may be getting somwhere. Ok disconected the main wire from the alternator and conected my bodged feusable link and all sytems came back to life :thumbs so i removed the alternator and called Milners and they have sent me a replacement alternator it should be here tomorrow...

Good thinking it dosent seem to be an earth it runs into a loom that in turn goes over to the fuse box and the battery i will disconnect it and report back my findings.

Getting somwhere now the fuseable link is burnt out so stripped it back and bodged up a new one just to try it and see what happens so i put a new wire in and connected it back up then connected the positive battery terminal and got some big sparks so disconected again and the wire that i used...

Ah i have had this out as i wonderd what it was if its the same thing im thinking of it is just a plastic plug with a wire coming out the top and going back in the bottom i testd this for continuity with the multi meter and got no beep im gonna investigat this further :thumb2 god i love this...

Ok just been out for a look with a fresh head so to speak and the only thing I have discoverd is that when I turn on the ignition there is a click and then a constant rattle sound like a relay is switching on and off I'm pretty sure that whatever is making the noise is buried under the engine...

Cheers i have had a look at the diagrams but im no closer to knowing what to do as im hopeless with electrics before it happend i was doing some mild offroading just down dirt tracks to the river there was alot of mud and the wheel arches are filthy with thick mud also i bellied it a wee bit but...

Ok that would make sense maybe as everythings dead as a dodo apart from head lights tail lights and starter motor as far as i can see but then why would that just blow?

Right just been out to have a fiddle with her :naughty and no joy with the ignition and the interior light is dead aswell so what next? Going to Norway again on thursday so prob wont be able to do much with it till i get back.

Yeah i did see that but all my fuses in there seem to be fine i took them out and visualy inspected them and checked the continuity with the multimeter just to be sure

OOh that would be good if it was just the switch il have to double check that interior light aswell as the switch for that on the drivers door is a bit tempremental at times il report back in a bit guys :thumb2

Yeah checked all fuses i can see in engine bay and dash panel the alternator is only two months old i dont think thats the prob because even if it wasnt working i should still have electrics as the battery still has a charge?As for the terminals they have seen better days and will replace them...

I have them guards on mine easy to fit and look good dont know how much protection they would really give but i like them and they are only 30 quid afteral.
