How do I know what rear dif oil I need for my Terrano II 1998 2.7TDI. Went to local spares shop and then bombarded with loads of questions. They reckon about £12 a litre!!! I thought spares etc for Probes were pricey!!

Right n update! Now seems (99%) that the annoying noise is coming from rear dif, sounds like a bearing. Had rear off ground spun wheels and unhealthy "rattle" can be heard in dif housing area. As this is out of my remit I will be taking it to local garage for estimate.
