stopped doing the battery charge overnight start first time routine this morning the starter finally gave up the ghost and smoked to hell as well from the stasrter ,good news is 3 hrs later and a bus ride and taxi back home from the scrappy and bobs your auntie ,1hr swap starter and hey presto...

no its not sticking its just starts perfect with a full battery first time then second then you try third and just nothing as if it takes loads out the battery so you only get one go at it and also get some burning electric y smell not all the time though, but auto spark has said everything else...

getting one of breakers today hopefully it eill sort it

been the auto electirician he cant find nothing wrong he says it the starter motor it also smells of burning funny as starting it is funny as i only bought it just a little over a yr ago online ebay from victoria autoparts 1 yr guarantee just ran ouit december great :doh

when you say the dfiode set in the alt ? what do i disconect a plug when running or do youmean when i park it up ,will it run without this and charge

hello again been to get a new battery today new battery fitted in garage wouldnt start so i asked them to test it and they did battery was fine and old one fine as well?????? ha d to push start the terrano ,so whats happening is im charging it fully and the battery is holdiing the chatge start...

evening all does anyone know what battery as in cca i should get for a terrano diesel 2 /27tdi as the one i have on it now i think is no good ,however having seen some on the internet they are prescribing on there sites when i enter car details , 750 cca plus batteries as the one i have on mine...

once all put back together is it a case of just priming by the filter pump and start ?

its not as shown in the download but there is a pipe that runs to the pump which has a bolt in the top and it is like a banjo union would that be it ? the nut seems to have a very thin head on it (not much to grip onto with a spanner

just followed the download to remove the banjo filter on my 27tdi 97 and ther isnt one there no nut in the place the download says does anyone know if they are fitted on the 97 model tdi or is it in a different place

that seems to make sense as when i experienced all this it sound s the same ,so what does control the rev coun ter if its not the ckp sensor,and where is it do you know

how do i test the maf besides unplugging whle engine runnning ,i looked at the download when i was still a paid member but couldnt find it then ,have to pay subs at the weekend sort iit out

the crank sensor controls the rev counter does it not ?as the rev counter has been intermittent for a long time last year and every time it fails theres a mil light come on but no reduced performance while on it would cut out at lights dead every few weeks but would start up fine straight away ...
