    Gearbox problems!!

Sounds like the input shaft bearing, sadly a common problem mine went a couple of years ago total bill for repair and a full clutch kit which was not essential but as the gearbox was off seemed like a good idea was £820 inc. VAT at my local commercial workshop. Not a bad job and still seems to...

    which cb radio ?

Most important thing is to ensure it has the European CEPT frequencies as the UK frequencies are not legal in France, some radios have both CEPT and UK.

    3 litre nissan t2 mpg

From my 2005 Terrano brochure for the 5 door manuals 2.7 should give (urban/extra urban/combined) 23.5/32.5/28.5mpg and the 3.0 23.9/37.2/31mpg. My 3.0 returns 32 to 35 mpg once had 43mpg but that was cruising round Norway at a steady 50 ish..

    Which Antifreeze-Red or Blue?

I had a long look at the antifreeze requirements for Nissan the book says L250 or Ethylene Glycol, so far so good. L250 concentrate seems to have been replaced by L248 (ready mixed). The big problem is which corrosion inhibitor to use I think there are several options with the more modern...

    Wet Boot

Oddley enough I was in the same position a month ago, very wet carpets. Stage 1) As suggested above I removed the door tread panel and used black silicone to seal the last 200mm of trim strip at each side and after cleaning, I ran an 8-10mm bead under the rear edge of the tread panel before...

Rain leaking in from map light switches

I have had this problem, the radio antenna was mounted on the roof above the light/switch panel. Remove access panel (it unclips see manual) then remove antenna. Clean base of antenna, gasket and roof. Refit using a small amount of silicone sealant (black if you have it) between the components...

    alternator overload?

Alternator will be fine they will only supply the rated current and no more, if you try and draw to much current the output voltage of the alternator will fall untill it can support the available current.

    I'm an idiot :(...

3.0 oil light stays on at start up.........change the high speed oil pressure sensor, very common problem. There is a work sheet for the Terrano in the download section for the sensor change. I have run a 3.0 Terrano from new and it is now on sensor number 4 or is it 5 (I have lost count) I...

    12v power supply sorted

Vented lead acid on charge in a bedroom is not a good idea. 1) During charge some acid vapour will be released (large hole in carpet) 2) Hydrogen and oxygen are evolved towards the end of charge and can explode spreading acid over you and your bedroom (more holes in carpet and curtains). 3) If...

    oil pressure switch

I now carry a spare one in the car as I don't like driving with the oil light on. I was chatting to an RAC may at a motorway service area and he seemed to be of the opinion thay would fit one if you had one at the side of the road rather than transporting you home.

    oil pressure switch

The high pressure sensor has a yelllow band the low pressure sensor is all black so I have always assumed they are different. Proper Nissan bit is around £25.00 from memory. See http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/downloads/workshop/wk42.pdf for how to change the high pressure oil sensor. The...

    CB Help

Sorry to disagree but VSWR does NOT change with power as it is a ratio of the maximum RF Voltage and minimum RF Voltage measured along the transmission line with a constant amplitude signal. The signals may get bigger with more power but the ratio stays the same. Burners are not a good idea as...

    swr meter.....

Fit meter, adjust antenna then remove the meter in a mobile situation. Refit and test from time to time. Leaving meter out in normal operation reduces the number of RF connections between the antanna and the radio and should improve the reliability of the system. If VSWR is less than 3:1 most...
