it was an m reg and i hakf hakfed it with deisel. i wouldnt use veg unless basically got held by the hand on first time as dont want another engine going on me.

ah, must of been the car when i tried it then, had a serena 4x4, put veg/sunflower oil in and it smoked and drove like was running on syrup. turns out the cat had been removed tho.

gear driven, so more mechanically reliable and sound then. will def look into it, all depends on other interested parties and if they outdo my meager budget lol. veg oil....i take it you dont buy from shop and pour straight out of the bottle?

daft question.......at those mies is the timing chain going to need to be done???? if i was looking to make things easier and cheaper would kind of defeat the object lol!

id like the veg oil but would have to be told how as last time i tried it the engine kaputted, so i either did it wrong or bad car lol bt it scared me off

would that be a lot less power or more economical then? its def nice looking, altho dont know what an old auto is like.

are the the same head height and int space as the old terrano? is it the same engine as the 93+ ones?

not too bad inside, classic feel hopefully if rick pops on can advise me on mine, as its a nice 4x4 but with tax up this month and needing timing chain fitting cost.... all depends how much and is worth keeping? all want is reliable working car!!

thanks, annoyingly enough was prob closer to rick before we moved, but am in devon near torquay now so not really near anyone.

come to think of it, last cpl times weve been in to pay, they havent been able to give us peciepts as their machine was down...i believed them but now im not so sure.....

i wouldnt touch that garage again with a 10 foot bargepole, ive got ripped off from them and swear that the car is worse since going in! so much for neighbours reccommendations! just hope can find a decent garage and that the car is repairable.

rick did say about timing chain kit when i first said about the probs. it was garage that said the belts which is fair enough if the fan was catching them and one was "slanty" if have to get timing chain so be it as figure rick knows what hes on about....and then its down to finding someone who...

well, been to the garage, their verdict is the timing chain - and the tappet and vibrating sound is reasoning that its caused from replacing the belts, which now that they are tight have made the timing chain loose and the vibration from it is causing the tappets to rattle?? coincidentally they...

im going to go there now, the fct i can hear it when in the car its bad...and i know for a fact it wasnt there when it went it. they will prob deny it but ive filled oil up....1/2 liter andd no change. with that little oil gone shudnt of made a diff
