towing with pathfinder Update, Towed my 2.5 ton trailer a dream, did not even know it was there and the revs and MPG was hardly affected. Average went from 25.9 down to 24.2. Would go as far as to say that she pulled better than the 3ltr auto Patrol and did not over heat like the 2.8 ltr terrano.

WOW what a difference, I was paying 370 a year fully comp on a troll 3ltr (2000 W) with elephant, have just changed to a Pathy DCi SVE 2.5ltr (06) they charged me the usual 30 pounds paperwork fee. Renewal is due in six weeks,..... Wish me luck!!

Hi, Guys Im in Chatham ME5 Just down sized from a Troll to a Pathy. Like a lot of you she is my main car to get to work + I do shows at the weekend so use her to tow a 2.5 ton trailer, (some times across a field !!)

I had the 2.8 terrano, towing the 2.5 ton trailer she kept overheating, so upgraded to a 3ltr Troll on a auto box, she towed great. I have only just got the Pathy and she is having a tow bar fitted on wednesday so will update on how she copes. Book shows a higher BHP and TORQUE so in theory...

New Pathy Just traded my 2000 3ltr GR SE troll in for an 06 Pathfinder 2.5 CDi SVE, she does more mpg, got more bhp and lb/ft, just hope she tows as well, will see this weekend as I will be towing a 2.5 ton trailer, once I fit the tow bar!! All I can say so far (1 days driving) she is a better...

Briggie, Just a thought nissan 1st have a terrano engine 63K for 300........... May be less than fixing the latest banging noise!!

These guys have come to my rescue twice now. I have even told them that they are famous at the nissan 4x4 owners club........... If you do need them make sure you mention the site.... I think we could request a discount if we keep using them?????? The aircon pipe was 300 + vat from nissan...

I agree but if I was to take up banger racing ,,,, I cant think of a better car to start in!!!! Should last a few races.

Got new diff Nissan 1st came up trumps again!!!! sold me a diff for 500 including postage (direct to garage) and 3 months warenty. Should be fitted in the morning..... lets hope it stops the noise when I turn right.....

Think it works like a dust cap,,,,,,,, stops stuff getting into the filler valve and letting the gas out......... PS it is now ilegal to vent aircon gas.... so when my old pipe split I was breaking the law???

Sorry M8 I had the nice guy at the garage do mine.... mind you to reoil the diff and tighten the hubs cost me 70 pound........

Have aircon cap !!!!! Guys, I have just replaced the aircon pipe on my troll, so have the little green/blue cap spare....... PM me the address and I will post it to him.

I used to tow a 2 ton trailer with my terrano 2.7 manual, with no probs apart from slight over heating on long gradual hills.... Now have a 2.5 ton trailer and a 3ltr patrol auto..... its far to easy to forget the trailer is there now...

My Y61 (2000) Troll started making a noise when turning right, googled it to find out prob issue front diff, so took to the garage only to be told that diff was full of gunk, looks like previouse owner had added a addative to keep it quiate!! they have replaced with oil and now its even worse...
