Yeah, I think it is the roller type. P&P shouldn't be too much of a problem, I get fishing rods sent to me on a regular basis, big and awkward things for sending, but they never break the bank for shipping.

No it isn't. If I buy things ex-VAT I then end up paying the full 23% of the selling price to the State instead of the 23% of just the profit. But if I do not sell said item I do not pay anything to the state.

I own a business so I have a VAT number which allows me to buy ex-VAT.

That link is for a Portuguese site, but as usual they do not put the prices! It's my experience that buying from the UK is the best option. What's more they seem to have more on offer. They is one more thing, lol, no VAT!
