Haha. Nicely done! I have a lot of knowledge (Chartered Mechanical Engineer) I can pass on too, and I'm currently in the throws of retrofitting a Garret GT2870 turbo to the Patrol which should make a reliable 250bhp at the wheels. :clap Based on that, I think I'm owed free membership! :p

Just to give a bit of closure on this... After driving the truck around for a bit it also jumps out of 1st, 3rd and 5th gear when you let off the throttle. It turned out to be the detent springs in the gearbox... Well, I took the spring out (pried it out) and the hole was full of muddy water...

Yeah, the gear oil definitely needs changing, but I can't see that bringing back the springiness. It needs a bit of work. I've patched up a couple of holes in the boot floor and one on the chassis and rebuilt the front axles plus I'm binning those arches in favour of new ones and I've bought...
