    2005 Terrano 2 2.7TD - troubles continue...

    OK, I need to get the dial gauge somewhere then. Are they all standard? I assume I can use any, as long as it has suitable thread, because manual says: "Set dial gauge so its indicator points to somewhere between 1.0 and 2.0 mm (0.039 and 0.079 in) on the scale."

    2005 Terrano 2 2.7TD - troubles continue...

    As you all know from my previous post here, my original IP was kaputt on the motorway, and I replaced it about month ago. After approx. 1000 miles on new pump (from 2004 Terrano) it broke again :( Quick check showed that there is no fuel coming to injectors, however distribution shaft turns OK...

    P1207 fault, airbag light and no horn and volume control on steering wheel.

    Yes, this is device that controls amount of fuel injected. Car drives excellent, no problems at all except Engine Check light and this fault. I'll check resistance tomorrow.

    P1207 fault, airbag light and no horn and volume control on steering wheel.

    I know that 3 issues mentioned above most likely are not linked to one another, but who knows... Electronics is a tricky thing... 1. Computer gives me P1207 fault code. Since I replaced broken IP last weekend, car was OK for couple of days until this fault came on and "Engine check" is...

    Thanks to cncfab issue is sorted now, he has sent me a new IP. Looks like the issue was in broken plunger spring. I plan to send pump for refurbishment and hopefully they will be able to make few photos. Thanks for your help guys!

    20ltrs = 100miles = 22.73MPG

    Yes, but if you count cost of fuel.... ;))) I think mileage very much depends on fuel. I know for sure that 15l/100km is standard in Russia, and 20l is quite common. Fuel mostly is crap there, however...

    2005 Terrano 2 2.7TD stopped on motorway and won't start!

    Hmm... I don't know how good lubricant this stuff is, so maybe IP simply ran dry which caused failure in the end? Thanks for comment, you may be pointing me into right direction. Usually people put this stuff in into tank, but some suggest running it straight: "I use liqui moly (lubro moly in...

    2005 Terrano 2 2.7TD stopped on motorway and won't start!

    Managed to take off pump yesterday, for that needed to remove vacuum pump installed underneath it. When turning main shaft, plunger shaft stayed intact, so looks like pump has plunger spring broken. Any ideas how WVO could affect the spring?

    2005 Terrano 2 2.7TD stopped on motorway and won't start!

    I couldn't get out one of 3 bolts holding pump from the front. On the RH picture below, it's one at the bottom of the triangle plate. Couldn't get there with wrench, so had to unscrew and move Steering box (image 2). However, I didn't touch air manifold despite workshop manual recommends to...

    20ltrs = 100miles = 22.73MPG

    Mine is the same on 90% wvo. Increasing to 20l/100km when towing 1 ton trailer.

    2005 Terrano 2 2.7TD stopped on motorway and won't start!

    By the way, after fault codes were cleared, they didn't come up again. Crank sensor is definitely working because tachometer works OK.

    2005 Terrano 2 2.7TD stopped on motorway and won't start!

    Looks like we found the issue. At about 10pm we decided to check if pump is actually turning and unscrewed Bolt (on picture below), which is located in the centre between high pressure fuel supply lines going to injectors. Using mirror, we could see a yellow (probably brass) disc or plate with 4...
