I noticed that where the thermostat sits there is a thin rubber seal - am I being a numpty by having this seal under the thermostat? or does the stat sit in the recess and have this above??? Help!!!!!!!!:bow

Thats an idea and you could put a fishtank in the rear and warm the water off the rad - stops the engine cooking and its a talking point for passers by and the extra rear weight keeps the back end planted in the wet!!!!!!!!!!:thumbs

fellow stokie - wish I could weld but its the one thing ive never done and wouldn't fancy it, everything else mechanical I give it a go. Im on my 2nd terrano and love it.

I use that one, its brilliant for the money - just set it on 10 minute loop and good to go.

wouldnt it be better then to make the fan seize so it always works or maybe attach somekind of rotation sensor that shows it workin? you know like those magnets you attach to a pushbike wheel to make the speedo work?

I use DVD fab to rip discs to a basic avi files for watching on a player or of course you can just get them online but obviously just the legal way and not using any online download sites etc etc !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:clap

Im going to flush my coolant again tomorrow and remove the shroud as you advise - at least this way if I need to change a belt I don't have to revert to magic as a means of fixing things lol

I think the waterpump was leaking for a long time previous to me getting the motor last week but the original owners didnt know it was the pump until I pointed it out. It certainly wasn't the cylinder head due to the symptoms but whatever happens this is a keeper as its a great truck and only...
