    Newbie from Cornwall

Hi Nige "I need 4 new tyres. Mostly road but 30% on muddy tracks/wet fields. Whats recommended for sensible money?" Re tyres - I used Toyo ATs from Camskills on my previous T2 and I'll get them on my new one when the time comes. Great tyres for 30% off road and good value, highly recommended...

    Transit

Re buying s/h - also be sure to check the burnt through number, which can be found on the draw-bar with Ifor Williams on 01490 412626 (as distinct with the serial number on the pop riveted plate). They record the type/model of every one they manufacture against this special number. I once bid...

    Spin out!!! LSD issues

I never had the 'break-away rear end problem on my old 2.7 T2 but the new 3ltr does get a little skittish if I pull out of a bend or from a roundabout a tad forcefully. I hope its not the tyres causing the problem 'cos the "Savero HT Plus GT Radials" (that's what it says on the sidewall -never...

    Poor handbrake

Hi Terranical One of the frequent causes of poor handbrake function on a T2 of your vintage is seized cables. The hydraulic wheel cylinders have no effect on the operation of the handbrake. It operates mechanically (not hydraulically) by actuating a cam to force the rear brake shoes apart...

    bullbars terrano 2

Hi Pablo New bull bars for a T2 are difficult to come by as, I believe, that full 'wrap-around' ones have recently been banned by EU regulations due to 'alleged' pedestrian safety issues. The small ones that simply come from beneath the front bumper and form a low arch in front of the radiator...

    X-Trail Towing Query

I support PLANK's comment about a Terrano as opposed to an X Trail for real grunt when towing. My son-in-law has an X Trail and complained that it would not pull a heavy trailer in extreme incline conditions as it does not have low range 4WD gears. As well as being able to tow up to 2800 kg the...

    FOR SALE : Stuff.....

Hi LC There's a berth here in the Lot if you need a break going south (or north!). Don't rush with the house, the property market here is stagnant! Bon courage Rgds CL

Terrano lwb any tow with one??

Hi Venture Kwondo's advice about a hitch extension is sound, I don't have one but my German hitch is a little longer than the norm. I've towed my 1700kg+ van with my earlier '96 2.7 T2 and now with my 3ltr T2 and I can say that the difference in power is worth the money! So if you can stretch to...

    tiling a floor

Hi Zippy You might want to consider in which aspect you want to lay the tiles i.e. 'square' to the walls or in a diagonal aspect i.e. as if in a straight line from one corner of the room to the other. From experience I can say the the latter method is better for dealing with a room that is not...

    New Toy

Hi R1cho Having been advised by an award winning professional photographer friend who teaches the 'black art', I've gone down the Canon road and I'm a very satisfied amateur. But if you're going to branch out from that which is compatible with your existing kit you might want to consider Nikon...

Locking a T2 without the internal alarm

Thanks Rick and LC - all works just as you said it would. Rgds CL

    What you make of this?

Hi Clivvy I have one exactly the same, had it for so long I've forgot where I bought it but probably at an ex army store somewhere in the UK. I keep it under the back seat of my T2 'just in case'. The blade can be locked in the position yours is or at right angles to the handle, to use it as a...

Thanks LC, I'll try that, hopefully when no-ones looking! Rgds CL

Locking a T2 without the internal alarm

Thanks guys - found the switch on the left of my LHD, wheel next to the remote mirror adjuster. I'll give it a try next time I leave pooch in the truck. To resume normal mode do I just use the remote command as normal or do I have to cancel the override by pressing the rocker switch again? Rgds CL

Locking a T2 without the internal alarm

Is there a method of locking the doors of a NATS equipped '03 T2 without setting off the internal movement/tamper alarm? (assuming that's what the dog sets off!) If I lock my T2 using the key ring zapper with pooch inside the alarm sounds when he moves about. If I want to leave dog in the car...

I need to sell a car

Hi Annteapot and welcome. If you haven't already, you might want to look at the site http://www.autotrader.co.uk/ where a lot of cars are advertised and where you can advertise yours. It will show you what details are needed to attract a buyer when advertising a car for sale. This Nissan4x4...

    4 wheel drive

Hi Ezelife I think you'll find that 4WD is effective in both forward and reverse with auto hubs as they disengage forward lock and re-engage when the front axle shafts rotate in the opposite direction. I'm not absolutely sure about that but my experience of driving my T2 in 4WD both forward then...

    Spanish plates

Wow Terranical! 4k that's a hell of a price for a 'very mature' T2 in Spain - and I thought France was expensive! I originally intended to buy a newer T2 in the UK and import it to France, which would have cost something in the region of 1k, including ferry & fuel, over and above the cost of the...
