    Central heating pump off 12V?

This is how it is. All I was proposing was unplugging from socket and plug it into the inverter instead.

    Central heating pump off 12V?

If there is a power cut as things are now the capillary action of the system is the failsafe. Same as any solid fuel system. As I said very early on in this thread there is a radiator in the system dedicated to this purpose and in addition to that the water does circulate through the heating...

    Central heating pump off 12V?

The only "mains" in the stat is from the pump plug. Plug that into an inverter instead and it is then isolated from the mains. The pump is plugged into the mains at the moment via a standard 3 pin plug. The feed from this plug is switched by the thermostat between the plug and the pump. So if I...

    Central heating pump off 12V?

Excellent stuff, thank you for your help folks. So I need a 100Ah leaisure battery, a "connect & forget" charger and a 300W inverter. Can I just connect them all together, plug the pump in and leave it? What I really want to know is if the charger being on when there is demand on the battery is...

    Central heating pump off 12V?

That is more like what I had in mind. The pump doesn't normally run for all that long. Without actually doing the calculations I am confident the fire will go out before the battery goes flat. A different matter if I want to run the heating and the electric is off for a day or two. TBH that...

    Central heating pump off 12V?

I know there are some clever folk on here when it comes to electrickery so I thought I would ask. I am lucky enough to live out in the sticks, one of the few downsides is that the electric supply can be a bit iffy at times. All my heating is via a wood fueled AGA type thing and pumped with a...

    Computer advice needed, virus protection.

Having read arcascomp's post i had a quick Google of "best free antivirus" and it appears MSE isn't as highly rated as it was. Looks like Avast is the one to have now. I do only use MSE myself and haven't had any problems (as far as i know). Once or twice Chrome has told me "don't go there", so...

NFU are good for me, you might even get "fleet" discount with having 3 cars. They seem to be good for some and just downright awful for others, literally is a postcode lottery.

Keys in the car with the door open alarm?

Panic over, it has stopped doing it. No Idea why and I do have dim memories of this happening a few years back when I disconnected the battery for summat. One of the most annoying features of many modern cars and I'm glad it's stopped.

    Computer advice needed, virus protection.

AVG was very good for a long time but MS Security Essentials is my current favourite. No problems here and I do visit some dodgy sites, not just this one. :naughty Only have one in there though, delete McAfee

Keys in the car with the door open alarm?

How do you turn it off? It didn't work in my car for the last 2-3 years but after replacing a battery terminal today it now works again. I don't want it to though. I have used the search button and found one thread on the subject but no real answer. Anybody know?

    Running board bolt thread size?

Well, you were right about the 14mm head (rather than the 15mm I said), but they are definitely not 1.5mm pitch. Found a 1.25 pitch bolt in my box of crap, knew it was there but as it had a 14mm head I thought it was smaller than M10. 1.5 pitch doesn't fit, I tried. Still got the mindset of...

    Running board bolt thread size?

That's just standard metric M10 pitch then. Thought they were finer than that but happy if they're not. Will go and see now. Put mine back on at the weekend and I'm one bolt short. If they are standard M10 I will have one in the shed somewhere. :thumbs

    Running board bolt thread size?

Because the heads are some and some 15 and 17mm. 15mm has got to be too small for an M12 hasn't it?:nenau

    Running board bolt thread size?
