    Pathfinder HID headlights in Europe?

Can anyone out there give any advice into what precautions I'll need to take on the HIDlights when in France this summer? I'm used to halogen lights and the small sticky beam benders, but what, if anything, do I need to do with the pathfinder?

    Poor demisting on 57 Pathfinder?

I don't think the problem is as much as she makes out. A new pollen filter is on the list, but she insists on rafting with the climate control rather than just hitting the front screen demist button and letting the CC sort itself out. She also ramps the temp up very quickly, and I think that...

    valve caps

There used to be caps that secured with a small Allen headed grub screw, but the PITA with them was that they'd corrode onto the valve. I had some and used to used a small ring spanner to remove them once the Allen screw had been loosened.

    Poor demisting on 57 Pathfinder?

Nothing damp in the car, only had it since the beginning of the month so we're only just getting used to it really. I can't recall my old Terrano being a PITA to demist, but wife leaves for work before I'm up & around usually, so I have not had chance to check what buttons she is or isn't...

    Poor demisting on 57 Pathfinder?

Wife reckons it takes 10 minutes to demise the front screen. I've got three thoughts about this: Dirty pollen filter Air con regas Use the engine "heater"button to the left of the steering wheel column. The problem with this is that the salesman did a "never press that button" with the wife...

    Pathfinder - Keyless Ignition Problem

We have a 57 Pathfinder and the wife has already discovered that the steering wheel lock has to be disengaged before the keyless ignition will work. Key fob also can't be too close, that's another no-no. I don't know if this will help the problem you describe. The supplying Nissan dealer knew...

    It's Jonny............

I need to get the medical all clear to drive first Jim, hopefully by March time. And even then I'll have a restricted licence of 1 to 3 years, not sure a toy Terrano would be the thing, but let's wait and see first!:thumbs

    It's Jonny............

Yes, that's me. The Terrano went back in 2008, the wife had bought an X-trail and we couldn't justify two 4wd's. I let my membership lapse because it was just too much of a soft roader. The Pathy on the other hand is going to be our only car, and Joanne has a regular 70 mile commute to do, so...

    It's Jonny............

I'm back! Used to be a member a few years ago in a cracking 2001 Nissan Terrano, that got chopped for a ford fiesta via a Nissan X-trail, and more recently a Hyundai Tucson, nice car but borderline for towing the caravan. As we're now just a one car family (complicated reasons, as always) then...

    run out of petrol

The wife ran out of petrol today but wouldn't fill the car up. She was worried about catching swine flu from Texaco. I'll get my coat........................

    roof rack

Not got those, but have got a set of unused Ford Maverick (old style) roof bars off a 3 door that I need to get rid of!!!!!

    K & N filter

Benefits are as mentioned already, downsides, one is that at low speeds the induction kit can draw a degree more under bonnet air in that maight be desirable, which may mean no real benfits over a panel filter which usually has some ducting to draw air from elsewhere. Problem goes once the...

    viscous fan help!!!

I've known this happen, but we're talking engine transplanted V8 land rovers with big nasty cheap home made fans. Doesn't do much more than chew holes in the rad, but still results in the rad leaking a lot. AFAIK on the T2 the gap between rad & fan is much too big for this to happen.

    Tiror hand winch

I'd suggest you need about a 4 foot length, sadly I don't have my tirfor anymore, and the handle was probably 5 foot long. Someone I spoke to used a handle from a tarmac "tamper" on their tirfor, about a fiver in wickes they said, and they just cut the square end off it.

    Tiror hand winch

Ian, scaffold pipe makes a great handle, I used some foam lagging as a grip. Remember they need specific Tirfor cable, not just bog standard winch cable, becuase the "clamps" in the winch would crush bog standard cable and weaken it. While they do need some trees to be handy a lot of the time...

    Tyre discounts?

Do we (as club members) get any discounts on tyres? I seem to recall we had some discount from Blackcircles but is that still current? I'm looking for a decent branded 215/60 R17 for the XT (well a pair for the front) and fitted prices are rangining from £105 to £ridiculous. Psychologicaly...

    Intercooler failing

I've chosen to go with an extended warranty with Warranty Direct for £23 per month, was going to do this anyway due to the XT's documented problems with turbo & intercooler, but now extrememly happy to have arranged this policy.

    wont fit??

+1 for opening the rear door when hitching up.

    Intercooler failing

Well, car was in on thursday evening, and I got it back on friday. Seems a little quieter at motorway speeds, and slightly more throttle response, so perhaps this leak has been present and causing a problem for longer than I thought. Happy with the service from the dealer regarding this...

    Intercooler failing

Don't worry guys, if they'd failed to get the vehicle booked in before the end of warranty ("sorry sir, we can't fit you in........") then I'd have made an unholy stink about it, as my understanding was the same as yours, problem identified in warranty can be dealt with after the period is up...
