Bad earth? Try the LED the opposite way around. If that doesn't work get the multimeter out and check for 12v+ and an earth to say a bolt obviously with the lights on. If thats good try the bulbs earth connection.

To play devils advocate though for a minute. Its a crazy world... though to ba fair... if dude in the 4x4 (doesn't matter the marque!) didn't help and gets disapproval then surely every able bodied person present who could swim should also get slated for not wading in and giving a push :augie...

Well.... I've finally done it... I've had a few 4x4's over the years... Rangie '83 V8, Rangie '90 TD, Disco '96 V8, SIIa with a few tweaks... Jag 4.2 lump and auto box :D and a 101 Ambulance.. all past trucks. Currently own between me and the Mrs a Freelander '05 TD4 , 110 CSW TD 1990...
