the rally cars have spots on their bonnets and they are road legal(ish) so perhaps they have to be removable? a bloke near me has a mkll escort with two huge cibbies bolted through the bonnet with a brace bar rose jointed to the backs. looks class.

iv got a loud grinding noise coming from my gearbox when in 5th, so i reckon it wont be long till it dies:doh. im going to change the oil but im now on the look out for a new (to me) box. any ideas how much itl cost or any reputable breakers, thanks all, vince

i fcound it easier just to remove it and do bthe work on the bench. but if you do be carfull when u fasten the turbo coolant pipes to the engine as they are f#@kers to get to. good luck
