Absolutely get your point, and completely agree. They should never of touched or turned it off, at the very least they should notify customers that it is what they do. If I worked there I would just cover the camera or the windscreen.

Unplugging the dash cam, maybe they were a bit paranoid of being recorded and filming life in the workshop. To be honest, I would if working in a garage not want to be filmed or audio recorded by a customers camera's all day.
