Thanks for the links everyone. TBH removing the vertical bit that the body mounts are welded on to (and re-welding the body mounts to the box section) sounds like a step to far for me to tackle plus my vertical inner sills actually seem ok. I think i need to ponder a bit more on this one.

Just tried and its a bit difficult to grip, but if use a screwdriver to push the actual rod (using the adjusting nut as the screwdriver stop) - i can push the rod all the way in and hold it. Its not easy and there does seem to be a reasonable amount of resistance. Just thinking - could i stick...

So, whilst looking for the source of a noise, i noticed that when revving the engine (in neutral - no actual load) - the waste gate actuator moves about 5mm. This only happens when quickly flooring the accelerator from idle and as soon as the revs rise to ~3.5K then letting off again - so just...

Forgot to say - don't think its the gearbox as i can get it to make the noise in neutral sat on the drive but i'll listen out for gearbox noises as well.

Small update on this. I replaced the turbo to IC hose and i think that has reduced the noise a bit but its still there. So, currently waiting for a new hose to arrive to do the other side (then at least its done). Also, cleaning out the intercooler <not too oily, just a thin film>. I did try...
