Fuel Pump and 'Power Box' Question

Basically Adrian here has go the same problem as me and my mate. Because our cars a early injection models, we don't use a Bosch pump, ours is a Zexel pump. This means the the connections are different. In theory you could probably splice the PSI box in but there is no guarantee itll work. I'm...

    New Balls

    Hesitation

Hmmm, I'm a little bit stumped...the only thing I can think of that might not be functioning correctly is either the injection pump, but then it's not down on power, or the turbo which could possibly have 'something' making it lag more than normal or the injectors eg a poor spray pattern...

    Hesitation

Thats an interesting one...Mine use to hesitate and pump out huge amounts of white smoke but that was purely down to the EGR sticking open. I also had issues when one of the earth wires for the injection pump and engine management broke off but that was causing major with it not running full...

    Oh dear, failed MOT.......

Ive seen exactly the same thing happen to a couple of other Terranos/Mavericks including the spares car thats sitting in my dads field. Im really surprised to see it on a 97 car, have you been sitting near the sea a lot? Im rather hoping it doesnt happen to mine! Best thing I can suggest if...

    Alternator regulator

I got a new one from my local(ish) auto electrical place, Panks Auto, for not a lot of money. I just gave them my alternator model number and they looked it up on their system, like i said, it didnt cost much, maybe £15 or so

    Tyres & Tread Patterns...What Tyre.?

Have you considered a Cooper tyre?? I run Cooper Discoverer S/T's atm for every day use and have just brought a second set because i like them so much. Theyre a 70/30 offroad/onroad bias so more like an aggressive A/T than an M/T. If you are worried about slashing your sidewalls then you...

    What tyres?

I quite fancy a set of Cooper Discovered ATR's; they are a road biased AT tyre. Another tyre that I can recommend is the Kumho KL78; thats a 50/50 bias. I had them on my Mav when I went to Spain; 2600 miles, 350 was offroad, theyre dead quiet on the road and can still hold there own offroad.

    Steering Damper

Just wondering if anyone here has a steering damper fitted to their D21?? If so, could you take a picture of where the 'mounting pin' (onto the chassis) is located, or even describe where it mounts to please

    17" tyres!

From memory, 265/75/R17 is about 33"...have a look on Cam Skill; they list plenty of tyres on there to browse through

    total Off Road Sept 09 @ £3.75

No offence to the guy, it might be engineered well but he needs to sort the aesthetics out on it!! Lets just say that when I saw it at the Donnington show, it certainly wasnt the prettiest car there. And yes, I agree, obviously TOR havent never logged onto this forum...If they want 'extreme'...

Wheels rubbing arches when fully articulated

Haha, sounds like a plan! Most, if not all of my pictures are uploaded to my Picasa album on the tinterweb here Ok...have you got any extra offset on your wheels?? I'm thinking that i might be able to get around this problem by fitting wheel spacers

Wheels rubbing arches when fully articulated

None of the cars down my two local breakers have them fitted It was running 'normal' weight yesterday ie half a tank of diesel and nothing in the boot... The shocks are near enough brand new. Theyre a set of gas KYB's Sod WD40, ill just get the propane bottle out and a blow torch attachment...

Wheels rubbing arches when fully articulated

The rear ARB came off last auturm. Ive been offroad, and more importantly been articulated loads of times since then and never ever had it rub before. I am just intrigued to know why it has just started to do it now. Like I said, the bumpstops have never been on the car, but may go on the list...

Wheels rubbing arches when fully articulated

Ive never had bump stops on the car and ive had it nearly 2 years. Like I said, the only thing that I have changed on the suspension is the shocks, so im thinking that maybe the new ones compress more than the originals, but then saying that, the downward articulation doesnt seem to have been...

Wheels rubbing arches when fully articulated

Nope, got standard 235/75/R15 Cooper S/T's on. They have rubbed so much today that they have removed some of the underseal from the arches!! I think I might need to fit some sort of bump stop...

Wheels rubbing arches when fully articulated

Just a query, has anyone else had the issue of the rear wheels rubbing the wheel arches sides when the wheel is fully articulated?? I've never had it happen before up until I went to Spain, and only then thought it was because I was running steels rather than alloys (I assumed there was less...
