Hi guys, problem solved !! I checked the oil levels of the drive train this morning, all good and clean when I stuck my finger in and plugs easy to remove so I was happy with all that. I couldnt help going back to what I thought the original problem sounded like to me, a exhaust related...

Resonnating Rattle from Prop/transfer or ???

Resonnating Rattle from Prop/transfer or ???

Hi guys, I have a Terrano II 1998 se Touring 2.7d 5 door.I have a rattle which I assumed was exhaust related at first. It happen's when I have the car in slighty too high a gear or when slowing down at road ends. I had assumed it was a loose clamp or something like that but I have had the...

    Water pump

Yeah this sounds exactly the same,I will have a proper look on the weekend and take off the plate mentioned to get right in there. The drip comes from a build up on the front of the sump as mentioned. And did I read that a pump is around 65-80 quid.Another little job to do soon !

    Water pump

Hi guys,I have developed a very small but very annoying water leak on my T2 this week.It is a small drip and after having a really good look I can not pin point exactly where it is coming from. If the water pumps delvelop's a leak,is it usually a small drip or larger ? I have checked all the...

Removed the auto hubs forever !?

Cheers plank,it is a very complicated issue and it is no surprise that engine/running gear is by far the most mentioned topic. 4wd is not the most important aspect of driving my T2.I lts the space and the 7 seats for me. :thumb2

Removed the auto hubs forever !?

There is much debate around the manual hubs dilemma, should I or shouldn't I. I have had a couple of dramas lately concerning 4wd/2wd-transfer box, slip diffs, yadda yadda etc. I was was unsure if it was any of the above problems and didnt want to fork for manual hubs straight away until I...

    Coasting/Freewheeling

thanks redex and solarman.I think the issue was a faulty hub and the coasting freewheeling was just a coincidence.I have taken on board the comments regarding nil fuel at zero throttle input on over run and will now leave the truck in gear when not pressing the throttle. Its a learning curve !

    Coasting/Freewheeling

Well I removed the hubs to have a check, the first one was pretty clean and not too gunked up but the off side one was really gunked up with what looked like steel wool and there is an issue with the ring which holds the spring in position. The lugs which the ring should rotate under are out of...

    Coasting/Freewheeling

wow,a range of different replys. And as an adult I chose the option of coasting for the reason of saving the environment obviously. And thanks to the folks who are concerned for the legal issues but it doesnt help me explaining the mechcanial problems.cheers anyway.but today it made 3 massive...

    Coasting/Freewheeling

Hi guys, with the increase in vat/fuel prices I thought I would do a bit of coasting in my 1998 T2 2.7 Diesel to economise a bit. I used to do this in a 306 I owned with no issues.I have been freewheeling on the downslopes and just coasting to road ends etc by knocking the car out of...

Hi guys, this has been a really helpfull thread.Last week I put my T2 into 4wd for the first time since I had it and was feeling really smug driving around with loads of grip in the bad conditions. However on the 2nd day when the conditions where not as bad and I was turning into a tarmac...

Hi folks, I have now changed the Number 1 injector with the sensor on it using a socket with the hole in and a power bar to get enough leverage.I had the bosch type fitted to mine and it isnt to bad a job to be honest. Getting access to the injector is a nut and bolt operation, removing the...

    Engine Management Light

Morning, I have bridged the connector this morning and it coming up with message 34 the injector needle lift sensor-incorrect signal or possibly wiring, air in fuel. The sensor would be easily discounted if i went for a replacement.ie,if i change that and it doesnt work it must be wiring or air...
